The tip jar is a way to help us cover the costs of our website, as well as printing, shipping, etc. We have a separate tip jar linked on our home page that offers multiple levels. We’re also setting this up in the store so it’s easier to leave a tip and buy a book at the same time. The simplest way for us to do that is to set this option up as a digital download, so you’ll be emailed a PDF of the latest issue of King Ludd’s Rag, which is fitting because oftentimes tips will go toward printing and shipping costs that aren’t covered by subscriptions.

Do want to note that tips are not tax-deductible and they do not impact editorial decisions. Our editors considering short stories for publication don’t have access to customer information. If you have a book under consideration you’re certainly welcome to order books but we would ask that you don’t add a tip.
