Refuse to do your job. If your cause and rationale are dumb enough, someone will come along and make you out to be a hero.

Sex sells, as they say, but sex is not the only thing that sells. Bigotry sells. Dumbassery sells. Homophobia sells. Heretical righteousness really sells.

I know I should write more—about the hypocrisy of Mike Huckabee, who wrote a foreword for this book, Under God's Authority: The Kim Davis Story, an autobiography for which the author needed two co-authors; some context for those who don't remember everything about Kim Davis; the weird horridness of the book's publisher, Liberty Counsel, a nonprofit organization that the Southern Poverty Law Center classifies as a hate group; the irony of a group of people trying to deprive another group of people of matrimonial liberty in the name of religious liberty; the insidiousness of the term "religious liberty"—but I don't have the energy.

One good thing about this book: it could get people who fundamentally hate books to read. Beware, though, if you spend $25 on this book, God will strike you dead if you ever utter the words "economic anxiety."

The end, but if you're still here this is just a note that Malarkeyweb is now offering nominal subscription fees. They're not subscriptions in the traditional sense because you can still move all around this website without purchasing one. If you're sort of a fan, though, and you don't feel like buying a book, you can always throw a couple dollars our way. These fake subscriptions will help us cover website fees, fund new projects, and maybe even pay a few writers one day. In exchange you will receive a postcard with a limerick or a special note on the back. End of pitch. Check out the subscriber levels here:
